“I recently lost my beautiful 17 year old daughter in a tragic car accident. She was a wonderful person and was loved by everyone. A group of her teachers and classmates wanted to start a scholarship in her memory. The first scholarship will be awarded to a member of her graduating class May 2006. Bands were ordered from Reminderband and were sold as the first fundraiser for this scholarship fund. “After four year battle,I lost my son to malignant melanoma at 29 yrs old. He left a wife & 2 small children. The Melanoma Internation Foundation honored him by naming the award in his name for the winner of the 5K run last May. Brett's family and friends participated in the walkathon portion and proudly wore our "WALKIN'WITH BRETT" wristbands. I still wear mine today. This year the entire walkathon is dedicated to him. I am also in the process of organizing a foundation in his memory to raise awareness & to promote education to help eradicate this horrible disease. I will be ordering bands again this year. I know it will not bring my son back, but as the name indicates the band is a reminder.”
